Sauble Beach is known as “the Daytona of the north” for good reason: an endless stretch of white sand and 11 kilometers of beach cruising day and night! The Peninsula route from Sauble through Hope Bay to Lion’s Head is a fun, twisty ride. While In Sauble, be sure to discover local stores, grab an ice cream, and relax before setting off to Lion’s Head. In Lion’s Head you will discover the community is home to Taylor Made B&B, a spot that caters almost exclusively to riders.

North of town the road turns to gravel, so head out on the Caudle Side Road to Highway 6 and continue northward up to Tobermory and the ferry to Manitoulin Island.

On your adventure, don’t miss the Observation Tower at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre, or a glass-bottom boat tour in Tobermory. On the way up, consider a side trip out to Cape Croker Indian Park off of Purple Valley Road, especially in mid-August on the Cape Croker Pow-Wow weekend.

End your tour by parking your bike by the harbour in downtown Tobermory and discovering the peaceful and scenic views the harbour encompasses. Be sure to embrace social culture by checking out the spectacular local dining options and have a bite to eat on the patio at one of the unique restaurants, overlooking the water. And lastly, make sure to capture one of Lake Huron’s dramatic sunsets as the evening winds down.
