During the national celebration of arts and culture known as Culture Days, the Museum will host a special event dedicated to the current exhibit, Indian Day Schools: The National and Local Story. Participants will have a chance to engage and interact with the exhibit with a local Saugeen Ojibway Nation community member to learn deeper insights into the broader history of Indian Day Schools in Canada and the legacy of their local impact, with seven schools located in Bruce County; four in Cape Croker (Sydney Bay, Little Port Elgin, St. Mary’s Junior and St. Mary’s Senior School) and three in Saugeen (French Bay, Saugeen Village and Scotch Settlement). This event is FREE to attend. Preregistration is encouraged. General admission to the Museum will also be free throughout the day on October 5th.
