While you’re in Mennonite country, look for Armstrong's Home Bakery’s yellow building on Campbell Street, Lucknow’s main street and uncover delicious baking made famous by the Mennonite community that surrounds the town. Stop by this friendly bakery for flaky butter tarts and strawberry tarts, breads, pies, squares and more.

Back Eddies, Paisley

Part bakery, part café, part restaurant, Back Eddies offers a unique, but delicious experience. They have bakery items, coffee and takeout in front, and a restaurant in back with a patio overlooking the river. Back Eddies offers an eclectic mix of all day breakfasts, delicious lunch items, organic coffees, jams, preserves and live music all year round.

The Big Dipper Bakery Café, Paisley

Do you love bread? Down the road from the Saugeen River, at the Big Dipper Bakery Café, their passion is baking. If you’re curious about mixing, fermenting, shaping by hand and baking artisanal bread, this is the place to come. This small artisan bakery turns out hearty breads and old fashioned baking. Glenn and his wife are happy to share their love of good food. Their artisan bread is made in the old-world tradition of Europe using fresh, local, natural ingredients. Besides artisanal breads, they also feature squares, cookies, pies, Belgian chocolates and more. The café features hearty soups, fresh crunchy salads and unforgettable sandwiches served on their own fresh baked bread. Usually open Wednesday to Saturday, March through December.

Simply Deli-cious, Walkerton

If you're downtown and  you’re looking for a bakery that’s known for using fresh local ingredients, add Simply Deli-cious to your list of places to explore. This Walkerton staple has been serving happy customers the best of “made from scratch” menu items since 1999. The bakery features fresh baked bread, pies, tarts, cookies and muffins. There are also delicious breakfast sandwiches and lunch specials offered daily.
