  • Ever heard of fat bikes? These bikes have wider tires that let you bike on the beach! Take out a rental bike from Martin's Bike Shop (fat, mountain or cycling) to take advantage of the local trails.
  • Visit the lighthouses. Southampton’s most easily accessed lighthouse can be found on the north side of the Saugeen Rivers mouth, where the iconic Chantry Island lighthouse is only a boat tour away.
  • Stroll your way into the Southampton Art Gallery to see a collection of work by local artists or join in on one of the art classes / workshops.
  • Continue your strolling into the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre where you can take steps through time, revel in the 50,000+ artifacts or discover if you have family roots from Bruce County’s bygone days in the archives and research room.

Southampton Olive Oil Company offers a tasting extravaganza of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. It may seem a little odd to try the oil, but once you’ve taken that first tasting you’ll be sold. The Cooks Cupboard will entertain you with kitchenware and gadgets that take ordinary food to the extraordinary. L & Co., Infinite, Sisters on Huron and Preview provide chic clothing and intimates for Boomers, that can be equally embraced by their daughters.

  • Located in a gorgeous turn-of-the-century homes, this restaurant focuses on locally sourced goodness in all their offerings. Elk & Finch also roasts their coffee on site – making it that perfect morning coffee spot or grab a spot on the wrap around porch for a nightcap.
  • Sometimes the most unassuming place is the place to be. Built in 1852, the building was converted into a restaurant in 1915 and has been running ever since. The Walker House is a staple restaurant for locals and visitors alike.
  • Enjoy a fresh brewed beer at Outlaw Brew Co and keep an eye out for their seasonal brews.
  • Offshore Bakery is filled with all sorts of delicious fresh baked goodies including their famous flaxseed bread.
