Summer in Wiarton, Ontario

Summer in Wiarton, Ontario

Pack your bags. Get ready to explore the wilderness of the region and challenge yourself to the top of the escarpment. Wiarton is your home base, central to all the hidden gems that the Bruce Peninsula has to offer. Nestled between rugged limestone cliffs and the shores of Georgian Bay, and with plenty of shopping and sensational dining options, it's the perfect place to launch a boat trip, camp or go on a hiking adventure; we've got it in Wiarton!

Summer is a spectacular season to visit Wiarton as it is the basecamp to the Bruce Peninsula and home to the famous weather prognosticating groundhog, Wiarton Willie! Become one with nature at the Spirit Rock Conservation area, where you can explore the historical ruins of the McNeill Estate, atop the Niagara Escarpment. Or, take the spiral staircase to the water's edge and stroll through Bluewater Park where you can enjoy the breath-taking scenery of Colpoy's Bay. Are you ready to explore?

Wiarton is very open for business, even with the much-anticipated revitalization, which has resulted in a temporary closure of Highway 6.  There are easy to follow detour signs and access to the ample parking lots in the downtown core, located on Lousia Street between George Street and William Street, and off of George Street east of Berford Street.
