CBC Documentary Screening: Secret Agents of the Underground Railroad – February 8, 1:00 PM
February is Black History Month and, in recognition, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is hosting a special screening of the CBC documentary Secret Agents of the Underground Railroad in the Museum’s theatre.
This documentary explores how staff at a luxury hotel in Niagara Falls, NY helped ferry enslaved people to freedom in Canada. In a revealing exploration of the hotel’s hidden remains and the artifacts left behind, host Anthony Morgan joins a team of archeologists and community leaders as they recover essential but forgotten history. Through an archaeological excavation of the site, we learn about the lives and operations of some of the Underground Railroad’s greatest unsung heroes. Light refreshments will be provided.
