Beginning this tour in Ripley at the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens, you’ll be amazed by the variety of sustainable, organic food plants, many of which are endangered and considered heirloom.
Your next stop is about 25 minutes away in Teeswater, where you can visit the tranquil gardens at The Healing Arc. They specialize in supplying and producing Natural Health Products – specifically, Sea Buckthorn! Not only are these beautiful plants good for the environment, they are good for our health too. Followed up by Sunny Nook Greenhouse and Produce, learn about the unique growing practices that make farm-to-table so meaningful to Bruce County, and maybe even bring some home with you too.
Then, take Concession 10 until you hit Essentially Lavender, where your senses are sure to thank you as you take in the distinct aroma of this magical spot.
From there, it’s off toward Walkerton where you’ll be able to wander 30 acres of lush gardenscapes at the Folmer Botanical Gardens and Garden Centre, and experience the colourful wonder of Davishill Nursery and River’s Edge Garden Centre. Cap it all off with a trip to a plant nursey, The Guest House, right in downtown Walkerton and then go exploring the area for a great lunch.
