Flight of the Monarchs July 16 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Join us for a day of education, inspiration, and fun as we celebrate the wonder of Monarch butterflies! Enjoy a special visit from author Dorothy Ladd who will read from her beautifully illustrated children’s book, Memengwaa, the Monarch Butterfly, and then get crafty making your very own monarch butterfly to take home. Flutter into our Bruce Power theatre for a screening of the documentary film “Flight of the Butterflies” (2012), that shows us in fascinating detail the epic migratory journey that the Monarch makes each year from North America to Mexico. PLUS: Learn more about Monarchs from our guests the Southport Horticultural Society, who will share a bit about the species’ recent addition to the endangered species list and how we can support them locally. Members FREE; General Admission Applies. Presented in partnership with the Southport Horticultural Society
