You are invited to attend our Indigenous celebration: Neyaashiinigmiing 39th Annual Traditional Pow Wow at Cape Croker Park (Google Maps). Mark your calendars for August 16, 17 & 18, 2024 for your summer plans! Friday, August 16 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm is our Music / Open Mic Kick-off event for Friday evening donations at the gates for Admission. Saturday & Sunday Come and witness the grand entrance of a colourful grace of Indigenous dancing and singing at noon. We will have an array of Indigenous food and Indigenous crafts. Small bills are appreciated as this will help our vendors out immensely. Everyone is welcome, please bring a lawn chair and arrive early. Free parking & gates open at 10:00 am. This is a family event, no drugs or alcohol, and sorry no animals are allowed except Service Dogs. $10.00 admission – Free for 6 years of age and under & 65 years of age and older, cash-only. Pow Wows are a welcoming space and to ensure a wonderful experience for everyone, please be aware of Pow Wow Etiquette. General Pow Wow Etiquette Includes: 1. Arrive early 2. Dress and behave in an appropriate and respectful manner 3. Remember that the arena area is reserved for dancers and some seating is always reserved for Elders (bringing your own lawn chair & Sunscreen is a great idea) 4. Be courteous and aware of those around you 5. Consider donating to honour and support the costs of these typically non-profit events 6. Drugs and alcohol are not allowed, sorry no animals allowed ONLY service dogs 7.
