Bruce Remembers: Ted Barris on the Battle of Britain 33 Victoria St N, Southampton, ON N0H 2L0

Ahead of Remembrance Day, we welcome acclaimed historian and author Ted Barris to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre for a talk on the significant contributions of Canadian airmen to the Battle of Britain during the Second World War.

The Battle of Britain lasted 113 terrifying days in 1940.  During that campaign, Canadian flyers played a crucial role in defending England from Nazi attack. These Canadians — some from famous families, some straight off the farm — served in 47 different squadrons with 20 pilots dying in action and 12 awarded Distinguished Flying Crosses.  This compelling talk will mark the 85th anniversary of the battle by delving into the unknown stories of Canadians who answered the call.
