Jump in your canoe at Access Point #7 for a full day ride to Paisley. The calm waters in this section make for a peaceful paddle. Halfway through your canoe trip you will be delighted to find the McBeath Conservation Area. This is a river-access-only park that has no public vehicle access. Paddlers are able to stop at to stretch their legs, take a washroom break, eat their packed lunch, or camp overnight at the camp’s quaint back-country camping area. This by donation conservation area is the perfect place to take a break on your long day of paddling.
After your break, hop back into canoe or kayak and continue downstream on your tranquil ride towards Paisley where there are 2 access points for you to end your journey at. Jump out at the dock at access point #9B at Paisley’s Rotary Park where you will find a campground, washrooms and playground equipment.
You can also continue paddling 15 minutes longer until you reach access point #9A, in the heart of downtown Paisley. This is the perfect opportunity to end your day with an exploration of this scenic town and discover the many downtown shops and local artwork found throughout. Stop by Bonfire on Queen for a delicious Italian-inspired dinner where they specialize in making the most amazing homemade pasta and from scratch pizza. Then take a stroll down the street for a tasty cone from Tomboi Ice-cream – the ultimate artisan ice-cream experience.
