Legends of the Great Swamp features the legends and lore surrounding the great logging days of the 1800’s. Hear about the stories and hardships of those who worked in the bowels of this 20,000 acre wetland, including Lumber Baron Henry Cargill who was the mastermind behind an operation that managed to extract 2 million board feet of white pine out of the swamp each year for 25 years. All Greenock Swamp tours start at 2pm at the historical church in Chepstow. Bus transportation is provided from there. Please wear appropriate footwear (close-toed shoes), and dress for the weather.
