Bruce’s Caves

Located north east of Wiarton, the Bruce Caves consists of seven hectares of Niagara Escarpment, caves and wooded swamp. Bruce’s Caves Conservation Area derives its greatest significance from the unique cave formations found along the escarpment face. These caves were formed by the wave action of post-glacial Lake Algonquin, 7,000 to 8,000 years ago.

This is the ideal hike to include a guide or you cna easily follow the trail markers to the Cave. It is a short hike to the cave and you will encounter many native plants in a shady oasis.

This site has a picnic shelter and washrooms which are available seasonally.
