All the Excitement Just Steps from the Beach

When you pull up to Sauble Speedway, nestled within fields just steps away from Sauble Beach, the grandstand is the first thing you notice. The gigantic structure gives a home to thousands of race fans each night, all ready to take in the show. As they say, when the sun goes down on the beach, it’s time to head to the speedway.

A Little Bit of History

Constructed in 1969 as a dirt track, Sauble Speedway was paved shortly thereafter, and it has been an asphalt track ever since. The folks at the speedway take pride in being a true quarter-mile oval track. Tight turns and long straightaways make for great side-by-side racing that is sure to get your heart pumping as you cheer on your favourite racers. The season at Sauble Speedway typically begins right when kids get out of school at the end of June and runs until the Labour Day weekend with a finale that is sure to create lasting memories for you and the family.

A Family Affair

No matter your age, from the young kids all the way up to the experienced spectators, you’re going to love being part of the energy at Sauble Speedway. That includes racers just as much as spectators! On any given night you’ll see kids as young as 5 years old racing small-engine cars to adults as old as 70 getting after it at high speeds with big smiles.
There’s a reason you get the family atmosphere at the speedway. Kids 12 and under get free admission to the speedway. When you’re here, you quickly pick up on the family vibe. Moms, dads, and the kids all have a place at the speedway where they can enjoy the excitement of the races and enjoy each other’s company.

A (Not So) Typical Evening

The grandstand ticket booth opens at 5pm on race nights, and any time between 5 and 6 o’clock is a great time to arrive before the first green flag drops at 7 o’clock on the dot. Dynamite concessions are available below the grandstand. Whether you’re in the mood for burgers, hot dogs, onion rings, or anything else, they’ll make it up hot for you right then and there. Better yet, concessions are reasonably priced so you can enjoy your time and worry less about your wallet.

Innovation Right Here in Bruce County

Sauble Speedway is a great place to enjoy or be introduced to racing not only because of the atmosphere, but because of the passion of those behind the races. Take the United 8’s and Combined 4’s classes, where the technology of today is used to create a whole new racing atmosphere. The organizers at the speedway set a lap time, and if a car exceeds that time, they go off the track. Watching races with that added element makes them even more intriguing and fun to watch.

By the Time You Leave You’ll Be A Race Fan

Whether you’ve been a racing fan all your life or you have no idea what the Junior Late model class is, you’ll find that at Sauble Speedway it doesn’t matter. By the end of the night, you’ll be hungry for even more racing. The energy of the grandstands are unmatched, and the folks at the speedway make sure following the races is accessible no matter your knowledge level.
