Cargill History Walking Tour
Cargill Museum, 201 Cargill Road, Cargill
The pioneering logging and early industrial history of Bruce County lives on in the stories and architectural heritage of the magical rural village of Cargill, named for Henry Cargill who was the largest employer and wealthiest man in Bruce County in the late 1800s. Hear how the community was built not only on lumber from the Greenock Swamp, but a generous vision of what a thriving modern pioneer community could be. Tour lead by Dr. Kevin McKague who is a descendant of Bruce County pioneering families with deep roots in Cargill’s history.
