Outdoor adventures never end in Bruce County! Pack an extra layer and head outside to explore in the fresh, crisp air. Take a winter hike on Canada’s longest foot path, cross-country ski or snowshoe with trails overlooking turquoise waters and view unique ice formations on a walk along the Lake Huron shoreline.
Day 1
For your winter adventure, find a place to stay in Wiarton or Sauble Beach.
Layer up and head outside for a hike, taking in the crisp air and landscapes. Wiarton offers many exciting areas to explore like Spirit Rock Conservation and the Bruce Caves. For biking enthusiasts, visit the Mountain Bike Adventure Park, families and beginner riders will enjoy the hard-packed aggregate trails such as Rocky Way and Albemarle Pass! Fuel up after your adventures with lunch at The Green Door Cafe.
If there is snow during your visit, strap on some cross-country skis or lace up some snowshoes and explore the trails for the afternoon around Colpoy’s Bay. Outfitters like Thorncrest and Suntrail Source for Adventure have you covered for rentals! Take in the rugged shores of the Peninsula and look out to the crystal-clear waters.
Day 2
Make your way to Sauble Beach and walk along the shoreline, watching the waves crash and taking in the impressive ice formations on the lake. After your shoreline walk, spend the afternoon on cross-country ski and snowshoe trails located just north of Sauble Falls. Enjoy a warm hot cider when you finish skiing or snowshoeing at the club’s chalet. Day passes are available!
