Join us a thrilling and unforgettable event: The Infamous Hanging in the Queen’s Bush.  Get ready to be transported back in time, where justice was served with the tightening of a noose!

Starting at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church in Walkerton, Ontario, this immersive experience includes actors who portray real-life characters of long ago.  Feel the anticipation as a verdict is brought forth and a man by the name of John Haag is sentenced to hang at the Walkerton jail for the vicious murder of a childhood friend.  This true story shook the small, rural communities of southern Bruce County as law enforcement officials searched high and low for the infamous killer.

This tour starts in Walkerton and includes visits to historical buildings throughout south Bruce County including the Walkerton Jail, older churches (including the famous Immaculate Conception Church in Formosa where the murder victim now rests), as well as Harley’s Pub and Perk — built in the 1872 and still in operation today.

This event includes bus transportation (during the tour), visits to historic buildings, beer and wine tasting, guided tours of the Walkerton Jail and the churches, the talented actors, and a full-course Bruce County church supper to finish off the day! It’s a unique opportunity to step back in time and bring history alive with the true story of what happened on that fateful night.  Don’t miss out on this unique and fun adventure in the Queen’s Bush!
