Join us at the Walker House for a special presentation by local historian Bill Streeter! Bill will be sharing the story of his grandfather, George Streeter, who came to Canada at just 10 years old as part of the Barnardo Home Children program. From the 1890s to the 1930s, more than 33,000 Home Children were sent from the UK to Canada. While some had positive experiences, many were promised a better life but were instead placed in hard labour as farm hands or domestic workers, with some facing difficult conditions and abuse. Discover how these children—including those who arrived in Bruce County—shaped local history and left a lasting impact on our communities. 📅 January 17th ⏰ 1:00–2:00 PM 🎟 Admission by donation To register for the event, please contact the Walker House Museum: 📧 thewalkerhousemuseum@gmail.com 📞 519-396-1850
