International artist/filmmaker ZEV ROBINSON hosts an evening of local food, drink & discussion and instructs a MASTERCLASS – “Principles of Art, Theory and Practice” Multidisciplinary artist, Zev Robinson, will be bringing his Canadian film screening tour to Southampton Arts October 15, 2022 at 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm. Zev will tour across Ontario and Quebec holding his documentary screening of THE ART & POLITICS OF EATING. Mr. Robinson is a Canadian-British artist and filmmaker living in Scotland, and most of his work over the past decade has been developing his art, film and food project The Art and Politics of Eating. We will screen a short documentary, Art and the Politics of Eating, afterwards there will be a paneled discussion including Eat Local Grey Bruce, and The Grey Bruce Centre for Agroecology. The focus of the evening is on locally sourced food and drink and its impact on our environment and community. There will be food tastings locally sourced from our community farms from Sue’s Meat Market and beer sampling from Outlaw Brew Co. Zev Robinson is also an acclaimed artist and instructor and will also hold a MASTERCLASS on Sunday, October 16, 10:30am-3:30pm. Zev will begin with a PowerPoint presentation, looking at the great masters such as Michelangelo, Titian, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Cezanne and more. By contrasting works of art, he will go through how these artists created their works of art and developed their particular vision. Zev will also be instructing a live model drawing session, applying the principles covered in his morning session.
